ABOUT STEPHIN BOOTH

Stephin Booth is a percussionist and educator with professional ties to Los Angeles. He has worked on music projects with internationally known artists such as Rudy Ray Moore, Rosie Grier, Little Richard, Kashif, Debbie Allen, and Cathy Person.

He lives in Little Rock, where he is an integral part of the Afro-Caribbean style drumming scene, and has worked with highly acclaimed music professionals such as Tim Anthony and LeRon McAdoo.

In 2005, he connected with City Year and led a Caribbean drumming exhibition and workshop, which led to an invitation to open for President Clinton at the William Jefferson Clinton Congressional Library in Little Rock, and perform an Afro-Caribbean drumming exhibition.

Since then, he has had opportunities to share the knowledge of the drum with organizations such as the Heifer Foundation, the Little Rock Children’s Hospital, the Arkansas Arts Center, The President’s Council Winter Meeting, and lead the parade of the Little Rock Zoo’s 80th-anniversary celebration.

More recently, he has shared Afro-Caribbean drumming with at-risk youth at programs hosted at the community-based venue Brandon House Cultural and Performing Arts Center in Little Rock.
