Get spooky and creative at ASC’s next Second Saturday Family FunDay!

The theme of ASC’s next free monthly family event, set for 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, is “Engineering a Bone Bridge.”

(Don’t worry — the “bones” are actually cotton swabs.)

Visitors will create their own structures using the swabs and other materials. Public Programs Coordinator Shakeelah Rahmaan will demonstrate how to make a “bone bridge,” but participants are encouraged to be imaginative and put their own spin on their structure.

They can then compete in ASC’s design contest by entering their unique structure for a chance to win two tickets for ASC’s virtual theater production of Clue: Stay at Home.

Visitors can take part in October’s Family FunDay in person or online.

To attend in person, fill out the form HERE or call 870-536-3375 to reserve a spot. (ASC is limiting visitors to no more than 10 inside the building at any one time as part of the center’s social-distancing measures.)

Visitors still pick up a free “take & make” kit beforehand and follow along on ASC’s Facebook page at 1 p.m. or later. The kits will be available in ASC’s front entrance breezeway from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10.

Contest Instructions and Rules

To compete in the contest, email a photo of your design to srahmaan@asc701.org by 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11. Include parent’s name, contestant’s name, and phone number.
